AnyRouter MCP with Windsurf

Add the AnyRouter MCP server to Windsurf via the Cascade Settings UI or by editing ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json.

Windsurf (Codeium) exposes MCP through the Cascade panel, and you can reach the same result by editing ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json directly.

  1. Open Windsurf and click the Cascade icon in the sidebar.
  2. Open the MCP servers panel and click Add custom server.
  3. Fill in the details:
    • Name: anyrouter
    • Server URL: https://anyrouter.dev/api/v1/mcp
  4. Save. On the next tool invocation, Windsurf opens anyrouter.dev/oauth/consent — pick a permission level (Read-only is the default and safest) and click Allow.

  1. Open (or create) ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json.

  2. Add the AnyRouter server:

  3. Reload Windsurf. The next tool call triggers the OAuth flow at anyrouter.dev/oauth/consent.

Verify

In any Cascade chat, ask "check the AnyRouter system status". The agent calls get_system_status and surfaces the health snapshot inline.

Revoke

  • Windsurf side — remove the entry from the Cascade MCP panel, or delete it from mcp_config.json.
  • AnyRouter side — revoke the OAuth token from the MCP dashboard. Subsequent tool calls return 401 Unauthorized until you reconnect.
