AnyRouter MCP with Cline

Add the AnyRouter MCP server to Cline (VS Code extension) via the MCP Servers panel or cline_mcp_settings.json.

Cline is a VS Code agent extension with first-class MCP support — set it up from the panel UI or by editing cline_mcp_settings.json.

  1. Open the Cline panel in VS Code.
  2. Click the MCP Servers icon (the stacked-cube icon at the top of the panel).
  3. Switch to the Remote Servers tab → Add Remote Server.
  4. Fill in the details:
    • Server Name: anyrouter
    • Server URL: https://anyrouter.dev/api/v1/mcp
  5. Click Add Server. The next tool call opens anyrouter.dev/oauth/consent — pick a permission level (Read-only is the default and safest) and click Allow.

  1. In the same MCP Servers panel, click Configure MCP Servers to open cline_mcp_settings.json.

  2. Add the AnyRouter server:

  3. Save. Cline picks up changes without a reload; the next tool call starts the OAuth flow.

Verify

In any Cline chat, ask "list AnyRouter models that support vision". The agent calls list_models and returns the matching rows.

Revoke

  • Cline side — remove the entry from the MCP Servers panel, or set "disabled": true in cline_mcp_settings.json.
  • AnyRouter side — revoke the OAuth token from the MCP dashboard. Subsequent tool calls return 401 Unauthorized until you reconnect.
