Get a provider API key
Step-by-step instructions for creating an API key at every BYOK-supported provider — where to sign up, the exact console page, the key format, and how to add it to AnyRouter.
With Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) you route requests through your own accounts at the provider's own prices — AnyRouter adds $0 markup, and your keys are encrypted at rest and never shown back to anyone.
Adding any provider takes three steps:
- Choose a provider from the list below.
- Create a key in that provider's console (each links straight to its API-keys page).
- Add it to AnyRouter at dash.anyrouter.dev/byok → pick the provider → Add key → paste → Save.
When you save, AnyRouter runs a quick live check against the provider before storing the key. If the key is wrong or the account has no credit, the error shows up right away and nothing is saved.
Most providers show a new key only once. Copy it immediately and keep it somewhere safe.

OpenAI
Sign up at platform.openai.com, then open platform.openai.com/api-keys and click Create new secret key. Keys start with sk-. Paid usage only — add a payment method first.
Anthropic
Create an account at platform.claude.com, then go to platform.claude.com/settings/keys and click Create Key. Keys start with sk-ant-. Paid usage (some accounts get starter credits).
Google AI Studio (Gemini)
Sign in with a Google account at aistudio.google.com, then open aistudio.google.com/apikey and click Create API key. Keys start with AIza. Free tier available.
xAI (Grok)
Sign up at x.ai, then create a key in the console at console.x.ai under API Keys. Keys start with xai-. Paid usage.
DeepSeek
Register at platform.deepseek.com, then open platform.deepseek.com/api_keys and click Create API key. Keys start with sk-. Paid usage.
Mistral
Sign up at console.mistral.ai, then go to console.mistral.ai/api-keys and create a key. Free tier available for experimentation.

Groq
Sign up at console.groq.com, then open console.groq.com/keys and click Create API Key. Keys start with gsk_. Free tier available.
Cerebras
Create an account at cloud.cerebras.ai, then create a key from the dashboard under API Keys. Free tier available.
SambaNova
Sign up at cloud.sambanova.ai, then open cloud.sambanova.ai/apis and generate a key. Free credits to get started.
NVIDIA NIM
Sign in at build.nvidia.com, pick a model, and click Get API Key. Keys start with nvapi-. Free tier available.
DeepInfra
Register at deepinfra.com, then open deepinfra.com/dash/api_keys and create a token.

Sign up at venice.ai, then open venice.ai/settings/api and click Generate New API Key.
SiliconFlow
Register at cloud.siliconflow.com, then open cloud.siliconflow.com/account/ak and click Create API Key.
Ollama Cloud
Sign in at ollama.com, then open ollama.com/settings/keys and create a key. Free tier available.

Z.ai (GLM)
Sign up at z.ai, then open z.ai/manage-apikey/apikey-list and create a key. Use the same page's switcher for a Coding Plan key if you have a GLM Coding subscription.
Moonshot AI (Kimi)
Register at platform.moonshot.ai, then open platform.moonshot.ai/console/api-keys and click Create API Key.
Qwen (Alibaba Model Studio)
Sign in to Alibaba Cloud Model Studio at modelstudio.console.alibabacloud.com, then open API Keys in the sidebar and click Create API Key. Note keys are region-specific (International vs China endpoints).
StepFun
Sign up at platform.stepfun.ai, then open platform.stepfun.ai/interface-key to create a key.
LongCat (Meituan)
Register at longcat.chat/platform, then open the API Keys page and click Create API Key. Keys start with sk-.

Blackbox AI
Sign in at app.blackbox.ai, then create a key from app.blackbox.ai/dashboard. Keys start with bb_.
Poolside
Poolside access is granted through your Poolside account. Once you have access, create a key in the Poolside console and add it below.
Advanced: cloud provider keys
Google Vertex AI
Vertex uses a Google Cloud service account rather than a simple key. In the Google Cloud console, create a service account with Vertex AI access, download its JSON key, and paste the full JSON (with an optional region field) into the AnyRouter key field.
Add your key to AnyRouter
Once you have a key from any provider above:
- Go to dash.anyrouter.dev/byok.
- Find the provider under Available and click Add key.
- Paste the key into the API key field and click Save.
AnyRouter validates the key live before storing it, encrypts it at rest, and starts routing that provider's models through your account at list price.
