Google AI Studio (BYOK)
How to create an API key for Google AI Studio and add it to AnyRouter via Bring Your Own Key.
Google AI Studio keys work with both the native Gemini API and the OpenAI-compatible endpoint AnyRouter uses. New keys are created as Auth keys by default. This provider has a free tier or free credits — a good place to start.
Get your API key
- Go to Google AI Studio.
- Open API keys (or click Get API key).
- Click Create API key, select or create a Google Cloud project, then Create.
- Copy the key (usually starts with
AIzaSy...) and add it under Google AI Studio.
Gotchas
The free tier includes generous usage of Gemini Flash and Pro models. Keys are plain alphanumeric strings.
Add it to AnyRouter
- Go to Dashboard → BYOK.
- Find Google AI Studio under Available and click Add key.
- Paste your key into the API key field.
- Create key: Google AI Studio console
- Default base URL (editable on the key form):
https://generativelanguage.googleapis.com/v1beta/openai
- Click Save. AnyRouter runs a live validation call against Google AI Studio before storing the key — if it fails, the dialog shows the upstream error and the key isn't saved.
